My research interest is in the area of multimedia analysis, indexing, retrieval, and multi-platform content delivery. I am currently leading QUT contributions for Smart Services CRC - " Multichannel Content Delivery and Mobile Personalisation" project, while supervising 8 higher degree research students. I have published 40+ papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, including JASIST, ACM TOMCCAP, IEEE Multimedia, Information Processing and Management, and World Wide Web Journal. My papers have been cited by researchers in journal and conferences such as Multimedia Tools and Applications and Multimedia Modelling conference.

I have chaired two International workshops on the area of Mobile Multimedia Information Retrieval (MoMIR). I have also served in the program committee of: MMSP2008, IEE Mobility conference 2006-2008, ITNG 2006-2007, NBiS 2008, and and local organizing comittee of MMM'2004-2005.. As an active reviewer, I have reviewed numerous articles for top international journals and conferences including IEEE transaction on Multimedia, IEEE transaction on Circuit and Systems for Video Technology, Pattern Recognition Letters, Multimedia Tools and Applications, and Journal of Research and Practice in Information Technology. I have also served as an external reviewer for a competitive grant proposal for the research program CATCH (Continuous Access to Cultural Heritage) by NWO (The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research).

I have obtained Bachelor of Information Technology (Information Systems) with distinction from QUT in 2002, BIT (1st class honours) from QUT in 2003, Doctor of Philosophyfrom from Deakin University in 2005, and a Graduate Certificate in Education (Higher Education) frrom QUT in 2006. I was Associate Lecturer and Lecturer at Faculty of IT, QUT in 2004-2006. During 1999 to 2003, I have worked in the area of user supports and system analysis which inspires me to be a user-oriented system designer.

I was born in Indonesia (Surabaya), live in Brisbane since 1996, married and have a cute little girl. My personal interests are: art (music and drawing), watching soccer matches, playing with new video games and gadgets and trying different cuisines.
